Happy Sunday,
it’s me Waldi!
This week I’ve struggled with lower back pain that just won’t go away.
To combat it I’ve also begun to walk at least 10 000 steps each day. Views such as this one definitely make walking enjoyable:
Besides that, I’ve published a new blog post and dug into everything related to Personal Knowledge Management. Especially PARA.
Enjoy this week’s bullets and have a good start to your week!
1. Tiago Forte on Which Note-Taking App to Use
If you can’t decide which note-taking app to use, this video is for you.
2. Habit is a Seed
Many liked my reply to James Clear’s tweet about the connection between habit and compound interest.
3. Can We Pull Back From the Brink?
I’ve wanted to listen to this episode of the Sam Harris Podcast for a while. I’m about halfway through and it’s getting more interesting continuously.
4. Tim Ferriss and Caroline Paul on Overcoming Fear
I really enjoyed this episode of the Tim Ferriss Podcast with Caroline Paul on how she became one of the first female firefighters in the US and repeatedly overcame her many fears.
5. A Meaningful Quote from the Dalai Lama
This quote made me stop and think about my priorities.
6. 10 Books to Read
I was surprised to find three books on Ryan Holiday’s list of recommended books that I’ve never heard of before. Namely, “How to Live: Or A Life of Montaigne in One Question and Twenty Attempts at an Answer” by Sarah Bakewell, “What Makes Sammy Run?” by Budd Schulberg and “Average Is Over: Powering America Beyond the Age of the Great Stagnation” by Tyler Cowen.
The other books on his list are also great. Check them out if you like to read.
7. The Daily Stoic on Resilience
Marcus Aurelius defined flexibility and resilience as the ability to look a situation in the face and say, “You’re just what I was looking for.” The Stoics knew that the formula for greatness was the ability to turn obstacles into fuel, to see everything as an opportunity to do something.
That’s it for this week. I hope you’ve found something useful!
Until next week!
