Happy Monday,
it’s me Waldi!
This week was very interesting!
At the start of the week, I felt like I needed a break. I took that break and filled my free time with a reward I thought appropriate: video games. Well, you know how it goes. Before I knew it I spend a lot more time playing video games than was a reasonable reward. Fortunately, I realized that and quit within another day or two. Now, I haven’t touched them since and yesterday I spent all day designing new posts for Instagram. I was in flow for almost the whole process because I almost couldn’t create what I had in mind. But, then, after many tries, I created it. It was a great experience! The challenge was just right to stretch my skills, but not so hard that the difficulty was beyond my abilities. That’s what flow is all about. So, with that, I wish you many joyous flow-sessions this week. Let’s focus it up.
Now, let’s look at today’s bullets!
1. “The Most Wisdom Per Word”-Book
I’ve recently begun rereading Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. It’s as good as I remember it to be - maybe even better. As you can see in the screenshot there almost hasn’t been a single paragraph that I haven’t underlined.
The marks of a great book? Lots of marks.
You can get it here.
2. Beautiful Wallpapers
A great wallpaper can lead to little moments of gratitude throughout your day. If you look at one you particularly like, you might feel a little elevated for a moment. That’s a good thing to have.
I’ve recently found a website with beautiful wallpapers, that I like. It’s called: Visuals of Earth. They also have a beautiful Instagram account.
3. How One Habit Can Change Your Life
Habits are powerful. If you build the right habit, it can start a cascading effect that leads to other habit- and, eventually, lifestyle-changes. In this video, Matt D’Avella describes how his habit of regularly going to the gym changed his life. It will get you thinking about which habit could change your life.
4. Learn Why We Find Satisfying Things Satisfying
In this video, Joseph Everett explains why we find satisfying things satisfying and how we can use this to our advantage in our daily lives. This thought is particularly interesting when you apply it to things that you find boring or not satisfying.
The video goes very well together with the next bullet!
5. Why you are Uncertain, Unfocused and Anxious
Building on his video in the fourth bullet, Everett explains why we often feel this nagging sense of “incompletion” in our lives and what we can do about it. I recommend watching the previous feedback beforehand as it will build a solid foundation of knowledge that this one builds on. If you click on any link this week: click on this one.
6. How to Stay on the Path?
We all fall of the meaningful path every now and again.
It’s normal. We’re human.
Yet, what makes the difference between staying on the path in the long-term and straying from it, is how quickly we can get back on it.
7. Marcus Aurelius on How to Live a Satisfying Life
“Concentrate every minute like a Roman — like a man — on doing what’s in front of you with precise and genuine seriousness, tenderly, willingly, with justice. And on freeing yourself from all other distractions. Yes, you can—if you do everything as if it were the last thing you were doing in your life, and stop being aimless, stop letting your emotions override what your mind tells you, stop being hypocritical, self-centered, irritable. You see how few things you have to do to live a satisfying and reverent life? If you can manage this, that’s all even the gods can ask of you.”

That’s it for this week! I hope you found something valuable.
See you next week!
