Happy Saturday!
After a Star Wars marathon in response to the release of Episode IX this week, I traveled home yesterday to spend Christmas with my family and work over the holidays.
Enjoy your Christmas and reply to the Meaningful Question at the end of this email!
Enjoy this week’s philosophical and practical ideas…
#1 Why Consistency is More Important than Efficiency
Consistently doing something good makes you feel good consistency. Occasionally doing something very efficient, makes you feel good occasionally. Consistency builds confidence and self-respect. Consistency in the present increases the likelihood of consistency in the future. Consistency means you reaffirm and develop a positive identity. Consistency requires minimal preparation, efficiency demands maximum preparation.
#2 Goals vs. Systems
Goals are necessary to make sure you move in the right direction. They are your north-star. But, goals are terrible at guaranteeing progress towards your north-star.
Systems are reliable for consistent progress towards your north-star. But, if you don’t adjust your systems towards your goals, they may lead you astray.
The secret is to combine both:
Become crystal-clear on your goals and develop systems that guarantee consistent progress towards your goals.
#3 The Three Biggest Decisions Most People Make
What to do with our lives.
Where to live.
Whom to marry.

#4 Eric Greitens on the Importance of Resilience
“We all need resilience to live a fulfilling life. With resilience, you’ll become more prepared to take on challenges, to develop your talents, skills, and abilities so that you can live with more purpose and joy.”
